AT AN EVENING WITH THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA – 18TH APRIL 2018

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen

I’d like to acknowledge the gracious presence of HRH Tunku Ampuan Tuanku Najihah who has not failed to support all our charity functions over these many years. A big hand for HRH.

Your Excellencies/Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of TJET – like to thank all supporters and sponsors who have come to watch this production from the West End of London “An Evening with the Phantom of the Opera”.  I understand there are also other songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s shows, so we should be in for a great treat!

TJET has been presenting shows like this for many years and I am glad to see such a good turnout. We have raised over RM3.36 million since 1995 and tonight we have actually raked in over RM320,000 (that’s 10%).  Many thanks to all of you for your generous support.

A short word about TJET – We provide educational assistance to the most needy in our community. Educational excellence is not a criteria.  We just want the kids to finish school and get a better chance in life.

So those members of the public who are here tonight, any support to TJET would be gratefully received.

Lastly, I would like to thank my office staff- especially Connie, Ms. Lim, Ms. Chua and others who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver this function.

On that note let me say enjoy the show and hopefully the chandelier will not fall down!

L-R: Tunku Mohamed Alauddin bin Tunku Naquiyuddin, Tuanku Najihah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin, Y.A.M. Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja’afar, Tunku Nurul Hayati.

Tuanku Ja’afar Educational Trust (TJET) was established 25 years ago with the vision to provide educational support to those who are in the lower income bracket. The Chairman of The Board of Trustees of TJET, Y.A.M. Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Tuanku Ja’afar strongly believe that the provision of proper educational opportunities and necessary financial support are essential to the beneficiaries to succeed and fairly join the ranks of those with jobs and career opportunities. As at to date, TJET has raised RM320,000 worth of financial assistance benefitting thousands of students during  the charity event.
