Cancer Research Malaysia (CRMY) is thrilled to announce our inaugural Comedy Night, “Life Is Funny,” an evening that seamlessly blends enlightenment, entertainment, and exquisite dining. Scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM on Friday July 19th, 2024 at De Wan 1958 by Chef, The Linc KL, this unique event promises a night filled with laughter and gourmet cuisine, adding a much-needed dose of joy to the conversation about cancer.
“Life Is Funny” is more than just an evening of comedy; it’s a celebration of life, resilience, and the unyielding spirit of those touched by cancer. While cancer remains a daunting topic, this event aims to shed light on the strength, survival, and solidarity that characterize the journey of many affected individuals. We believe that laughter, often cited as the best medicine, can play a crucial role in lightening the discourse around cancer and highlighting the fortitude of those who face it.
Our lineup of talented comedians, including Kavin Jay, Rizal van Geyzel, and Shamaine Othman, promises an evening filled with humor and joy, with the legendary Dato’ Leonard Tan hosting the event. Their performances will not only entertain but also serve as a reminder of the power of positivity and community support in overcoming life’s challenges.
In addition to providing an unforgettable night of entertainment and culinary delights, “Life Is Funny” serves a higher purpose. The funds raised from this event will directly support CRMY’s groundbreaking research initiatives, particularly focusing on cancers that disproportionately affect Malaysians and our regional neighbors. By attending, you are contributing to vital research efforts aimed at improving survival rates and addressing neglected areas of cancer research.
“Life Is Funny is more than just a comedy night. It’s a testament to the resilience and courage of those affected by cancer. Through laughter and support, we can make a significant impact in the fight against this disease. Your participation and contributions are vital in our mission to empower research and ultimately save lives,” said Andy Khoo, Chief Executive Officer of CRMY.
To make participation accessible, we have established various donation tiers, starting from RM300, ensuring that everyone can contribute to this significant cause. Your support will enable CRMY to continue its essential work, pushing the boundaries of cancer research and striving towards a future where cancer is no longer a death sentence.
